Emergency Response

At least 7.6 million Syrians are internally displaced today. Many of these displaced families are living in camps, shelters, or even in open fields. Food, water, and sources of warmth are scarce, especially during the hard winter months.

Syrians are in desperate need of food, shelter, and winter aid. As a leading provider of humanitarian aid in Syria, Sunrise-USA works tirelessly to administer various aid programs to help Syrians trapped inside the conflict-ridden nation.

Every winter since 2012, Sunrise-USA launches a winter campaign to help alleviate the suffering in the bitter cold. We worked to supply people with Winter Aid Packages which included a tent, wood logs for stoves, blankets, mattresses, warm clothing, shoes, jackets, socks, feminine hygiene kit, detergents, baby diapers and wipes, hand soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, bathroom/kitchen cleaner, scarves, gloves, and mats.

Last winter, displaced Syrians in refugee camps were not prepared for the bone-chilling temperatures and snow. The frigid temperatures brought with them complications like respiratory illnesses. Sunrise-USA distributed 29,000 blankets, 1,000 kerosene heaters, 7,400 mattresses, 4500 hygiene baskets, 400 tents, 5,000 jackets, and 5,000 winter clothing kits to refugees in camps.

In the previous winter, Sunrise-USA helped more than 25,000 displaced families by supplying them with over 11,000 blankets, 31,000 baskets of wood, more than 15,000 winter jackets, 5,911 mattresses, and 24,300 winter clothing pieces. This year there is even more need for assistance, and we need your help to reach more displaced families. Your donation will help us provide more Winter Aid supplies for those most in need.
